Bayonet
A bayonet sleeve consists of an upper and a bottom half and interconnected by means of a bayonet mechanism. This sleeve is ideal when the sampling temperature is high or the sampling time is long and when larger containers are used. Safety regulations might require the operator to remain at a distance during most of the sampling process.

Both types of sleeves are provided with slots to observe the container as it is being filled. For further protection of the operator and the environment, the sleeve or complete sampler can be placed in a protective enclosure with external handle for sample operation.

  • The sleeve type to be used, depends on the container type selected on the datasheet Containers.
  • All sleeves mentioned on this datasheet fit our needle assemblies in such a way, that they are interchangeable (except 2 cc bottle).
  • If a sleeve has been damaged it can be replaced by the customer on site.
  • If a different container is required then the correct sleeve can be fitted by the customer on site.
  • Bottle retaining clips are factory mounted.
  • The bayonet type sleeves come in two parts, chained together.
  • Standard material is SS 316. When the sampler is required in an exotic material, the sleeve is not considered a wetted part.
  • To achieve weight reduction, sleeves are also available in PP material.
  • The bayonet type sleeves can be adapted with handles and/or Perspex safety sleeves.
  • For sleeves in different material, size or different size slots, please consult factory.
  • Custom made sleeves possible to match customer’s own bottle or specific demand.

Each type / size of container requires a matching sleeve. If containers of varying sizes are regularly to be used with the same system then more sleeves could be supplied and interchanged. Other solutions for supporting the bottles can be made available upon request.

The protective sleeve improves safety in the widest sense:

  • the needles are protected against mechanical damage;
  • the operator is shielded against the sharp needles;
  • the sleeve ensures guidance of the bottle ensuring an optimum seal between septum and needles;
  • the bottle is supported and shielded during sampling;
  • the operator does not have to hold the bottle.
